Event Details

The growth in workplace wellbeing initiatives has become evident in recent years. We have been witnessing great eagerness among building owners and operators for providing physical offices that can optimise occupants’ wellbeing and productivity. Pre-Covid-19, physical measures such as improvement of indoor air quality and thermal comfort were being considered in workplaces. But how will these wellbeing initiatives change post-pandemic?

Further description: Improvement in ventilation will surely get the top priority as it is an important factor in preventing the virus from spreading indoors. Nick Blake, principal FM consultant at BSRIA, will discuss the steps that need to be considered to ensure your ventilation strategy is secure.

The Covid pandemic has also radically altered the way we use and share public spaces. The built environment has become a hostile environment that affects our freedom of movement, comfort, and safety. Can accessible and sensory design help us reimagine workplaces of the future? Jason Slocombe, senior architect and director at Le Lay Architects, will share with us his experience about designing accessible workplaces in the age of a pandemic.

There is also a growing interest in social value when new buildings are being designed and developed. Buildings can be used as a powerful tool to generate wider social value. It is apparent that social value will be one of the biggest trends in the coming years when we are in the “new normal”. Element 4’s Georgia Elliott-Smith will explain how developers can support their neighbourhoods, bringing health, wellbeing, amenity and equity to the local community rather than sitting separate from it.
