GEO| Design+BIM, a platform that highlights the use of geospatial data analytics and Building Information Modelling (BIM) in asset spatial design, construction, and operation and maintenance, has announced Autodesk as a Gold Sponsor

The event is scheduled to take place from 1-2 November 2018, in Amsterdam.

Under the theme ‘Enabling Tomorrow’s Connected Infrastructure’, GEO| Design+BIM 2018 will delve further into the integration of geospatial technology and BIM, and other associated industry trends including big data analytics, IoT sensors, drones, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), robotics, cloud worksharing, modular/offsite construction, city information modeling, digital twin, etc.

Theo Agelopoulos, Director of Infrastructure Strategy at Autodesk said: “With a global population expected to reach 10 billion people by 2050 with more than 70% residing in urban areas, extraordinary pressure will be placed on already strained infrastructure resources.

“To meet these challenges, we need to embrace new ways of planning, designing, building, operating and maintaining infrastructure assets.  GEO|Design+BIM 2018 is the place to engage in that conversation and we are pleased to be a sponsor of such a significant event.”

“Our ambition is to make GEO|Design+BIM a true business user conference. With the support of Autodesk, the industry leader with strong user base worldwide, we’re positive we can make this happen,” added Anamika Das, Vice President, Outreach and Business Development at Geospatial Media and Communications, the conference organiser.
