GroupBC, a leading information management and BIM solution developer, has announced that they are now a Gold Patron of the UK BIM Alliance, supporting their aim to ensure BIM becomes business as usual whilst at the same time, transforming and future proofing the way the industry works

The UK BIM Alliance, launched in 2016, represents and works with and for the Built Industry facilitating the drive towards digital transformation of the UK’s built environment. Prior to its launch, many of the organisations involved, including numerous BIM4 groups, Women In Bim, and the BIM Regions, acted mainly in isolation. These groups now operate in collaboration, pooling resources and knowledge under the Communities Group.

Stuart Bell, Sales and Marketing Director of GroupBC, said: “We’ve worked with a number of the industry organisations involved in the Alliance over the past few years, so we are delighted to officially support their campaigns and research projects.

“We are both passionate about increasing awareness and implementation of digital technologies across the sector, so are excited about being more closely involved with the Alliance and the opportunities this offers”.

Dr Anne Kemp, Chair of the UK BIM Alliance said: “We are delighted to welcome GroupBC to the Alliance.

“As a well-known information management and BIM solution developer, GroupBC shares our aim to ensure BIM become business as usual whilst at the same time, transforming and future proofing the way the industry work.”

GroupBC is also a member of the UK BIM Alliance Technology Group, a special interest group bringing together digital construction software vendors to discuss and promote BIM standards to enable interoperability and encourage adoption of BIM Level 2 and beyond.

As Stephen Crompton, GroupBC Chief Product officer, commented: “A melting pot for shared knowledge and experience, the Technology Group is a vital forum for ensuring that we can continue to support our customers now and in the future as our industry strives towards adoption of standards and digital transformation.”
