Winners of Building Innovation Awards 2019 revealed

PBC Today attended the Building Innovation Awards last week (23 October), where a host of industry experts celebrated some of the best innovation the construction industry has to offer

Set at the historical Midland Hotel in Manchester, the Building Innovation Awards presented a night of glitz and glam for construction industry professionals.

Adorned in black tie attire attendees celebrated the pioneering individuals, organisations and partnerships that are embracing emerging technologies and digital transformation in order to take UK construction to the next level.

Hosted by British comedian and television presenter, Mike McClean, the evening honoured those taking strides to make a change in the sector.

“Today we celebrate the individuals, organisations and companies who have embraced technology and digital transformation in order to push UK construction to the cutting edge.”

Guest speaker, Joseph Daniels CEO and founder of Project Etopia, outlined the importance of a digitally enabled industry and showcased how some of his own innovations are changing the lives of those in Namibia.

Following a three-course meal, the winners of the Building Innovation Awards were announced.

Commenting on the awards, Luke Rilley, projects director at Swan Housing Association, said: “The event here today is great, it’s really showcasing innovation in housing and development and the way the industry has got to change in the future.”

Head of digital construction at Multiplex, Tom Loader, commented: “Without a degree of innovation within everything we do every day we’ll never progress.”
