Mick George Ltd discuss their joint venture with PwC to support local entrepreneurs and boost Telecoms and Facilities Management enterprises

Earlier this year, Mick George Ltd took the lead in a unique talent search, encouraging local entrepreneurs to come forward to seek support in bringing their ‘excellent business propositions’ to market.

The business claimed that they would provide the appropriate resources required to expose the full potential of said ideas, if they felt that the concept justified.

As anticipated, the company was inundated with individuals looking to kick-start a venture, as well as more established SMEs trying to evolve. Having sifted through endless applications and proposals, a panel of representatives coherently concluded that Mick George Ltd was ready to propel in to the ‘cyber’ world of ‘Telecoms’, and Facilities Management respectively, by offering its backing to two separate initiatives.

Despite the concept being in its relative infancy, it has not deterred PwC, the global professional services firm with a team of over 250 local experts in the East of England in supporting Mick George Ltd with their quest for developing emerging talent.

The collaboration is a logical one given the experience of PwC, in conjunction with the local knowledge of a large employer and operator within the region. More significantly, it recognises the potential of the ‘drive’, and the achievement to get PwC on-board, should certainly not be discounted.

It is anticipated that this association with PwC will accelerate more prospective entrepreneurs to bring their ideas to market.

Phil Melia, Fast Growth leader for PwC based in Cambridge said: “At PwC, one of our primary goals is to share thinking, experience, and solutions to develop fresh perspectives, innovative approaches and practical advice, which will hopefully drive change for a positive economic, social and environmental impact.’’

Phil continues: ‘’The Mick George ‘Ideas Factory’ is about demonstrating genuine leadership, rather than an emphasis on size or short-term revenue growth. We are passionate about working with entrepreneurs and it is of paramount importance to us to support entrepreneurs on their journey. We are therefore really excited about working with Mick George Ltd as one of the iconic business’s driving change in the local economy.’’

Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George Ltd commented: ‘’For PwC to offer recognition, let alone support the initiative is a major coup. Together, we both have many qualities that will undoubtedly prove advantageous to potential entrepreneurs, and are looking forward to hearing about any new business ideas.’’
