With ever increasing competition to maintain or improve their position within the
university rankings system, universities are constantly having to modernize and
improve and this has involved building numerous new facilities many of which extend
below ground.

The Caltite waterproof concrete system is a time‐proven, practical system which produces dampproof, highly durable concrete which can be used either as a stand‐alone system or incorporated as part of a dual system when required. Caltite has a successful track record of over 60 years helping designers, developers and owners waterproof and protect concrete structures, even under the most aggressive conditions, including over 55 years of experience in corrosion protection.

George Davies Centre, an example of CALTITE being used in universitiesOpened in 2016 at a cost of £42m and designed by Associated Architects of Birmingham, the George Davies Centre (formerly the Centre for Medicine) at the University of Leicester is also the UK’s largest nonresidential Passivhaus building and the largest investment in medical teaching and applied research by any UK university in the last decade. Everdure Caltite was used to waterproof the below ground structure. The structural engineers were Ramboll, main contractor Willmott Dixon and concrete contractor Metropolitan Developer Limited.

Faculty of Arts, Design and Media at Birmingham City UniversityFaculty of Arts, Design and Media at Birmingham City University. Opened in 2014 and designed by Associated Architects, Everdure Caltite was used to waterproof the below ground structure. The structural engineers were Ramboll, main contractor Willmott Dixon and concrete contractor MPB Structures.

The Saїd Business Centre, University of OxfordThe Saїd Business Centre, University of Oxford. Designed by architects Dixon Jones, Everdure Caltite was used to waterproof the underground lecture theatre. The structural engineers were Whitbybird (Now Ramboll), main contractor Laing O’Rourke and concrete
contractor Sheehan Construction.

Lincoln College, Oxford.Lincoln College, Oxford. In 1998, Everdure Caltite was used to waterproof the basement to the extension to the college and then in 1999, in the new Garden Building Arts Centre and again in 2013 to the extension to the Arts Centre.
