Mace Construct<\/a> and Willmott Dixon Construction<\/a> have joined forces to jointly target construction work in the UK healthcare sector<\/h2>\n

The new initiative will see Mace\u2019s contracting arm work with Willmott Dixon Construction to support each other on major healthcare projects<\/a> across the UK.<\/p>\n

The consortium between the two contractors will be underpinned by an FAC-1 Framework Alliance Contract.<\/p>\n

It will see the two firms work together, allowing them to deliver a wider range of healthcare construction projects than they could do individually.<\/p>\n

The Mace and Willmott Dixon consortium means that customers can draw on the combined expertise, skills and capacity of both firms.<\/p>\n

The two companies both have extensive experience in delivering UK healthcare construction<\/a> projects, from Mace\u2019s delivery of the new Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital for UCLH to Willmott Dixon\u2019s Pears building for the Royal Free Charity.<\/p>\n

\u2018Amazing opportunities for collaboration\u2019<\/h3>\n

Gareth Lewis, CEO for Construct at Mace, said: \u201cIn conversations with the team at Willmott Dixon we\u2019ve found that we\u2019ve got a lot in common as two of the most high-profile UK contractors \u2013 from our commitment to diversity and inclusion to our ambitions for net zero.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve also found a lot of areas we can learn from one another; and it\u2019s exciting that we\u2019ll be able to share the benefits of that learning with our clients and the end users that rely on critical healthcare facilities across the UK.<\/p>\n

\u201cToo often the UK construction industry can be so focussed on competition that we lose out on amazing opportunities for collaboration.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope that this new model of partnership demonstrates the value of being more open to sharing our talents and knowledge with each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

John Waterman, chief operating officer at Willmott Dixon Construction, added: \u201cThis is an exciting new collaboration that draws on much of the strategic intent of the Construction Playbook<\/a>, which has laid out a clear course for the UK industry to get better and improve how we deliver for the public sector, through adopting a \u2018programmes not projects\u2019 approach, consequently we are looking at innovative ways of making this a reality.<\/p>\n
