{"id":101898,"date":"2021-11-16T15:24:26","date_gmt":"2021-11-16T15:24:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=101898"},"modified":"2021-11-17T08:26:18","modified_gmt":"2021-11-17T08:26:18","slug":"wd2-framework","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/wd2-framework\/101898\/","title":{"rendered":"Hunt begins for suppliers for \u00a366m windows and doors framework"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>PVC-U and timber window and door manufacturers, suppliers and installers are being sought for new four-year Windows and Doors framework for public sector projects<\/h2>\n<p>The Windows and Doors framework \u2018WD2\u2019 from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lhc.gov.uk\/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAys2MBhDOARIsAFf1D1c7WjIrJaEG803n5Y89Xpmm0_6JEvlwcSdMQ-ACVXR5ryaTbXLVlLYaAoUAEALw_wcB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LHC<\/a> allows local authorities, social landlords, and other public sector bodies to source PVC-U and timber products and end-to-end design services for both residential and non-residential projects.<\/p>\n<p>WD2 combines LHC\u2019s previous<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lhc.gov.uk\/frameworks\/roofing-windows-and-doors\/windows-doors-pvc-u-u10\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> PVC-U products<\/a> (U10) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lhc.gov.uk\/frameworks\/roofing-windows-and-doors\/windows-doors-timber-t4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">timber products<\/a> (T4) frameworks and will also extend its scope to include aluminium-clad timber windows.<\/p>\n<p>Each workstream will offer standard and enhanced performance options in preparation for the interim uplift to Part L regulations being enforced from June next year, and the full Future Homes Standard regulations expected in 2025.<\/p>\n<h3>\u2018Sustainability as top of the agenda\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>Dean Fazackerley, head of technical procurement, commented: \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/social-housing-net-zero\/91064\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sustainability<\/a> is top of the agenda for local authorities and housing associations.<\/p>\n<p>This framework is designed to help them meet the forthcoming, enhanced Part L regulations and the Future Homes Standard by providing a pool of pre-approved companies that can supply and install high-quality PVC-U and timber <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/door-manufacturers-lhc\/94477\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">windows and door<\/a> products.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a huge emphasis on quality, and it is the majority factor in whether a company is appointed to the framework. As part of this, third party evidence of product performance will be mandatory, with emphasis on u-values, durability, and lifecycle costs.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>The framework features the following:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Lot 1 &#8211;
