Mace has made two new senior appointments, as Bryony Martin joins Mace as the director for the UK’s central region and Dave Weatherburn becomes the newly appointed business director for nuclear

Bryony Martin will lead the UK’s central region and sector and head up industrial and manufacturing.

She has a strong track record in both the property and infrastructure sectors which will support Mace’s 2026 business strategy, growing the regional business across Consult sectors.

Martin will be responsible for leading Mace’s regional growth agenda, working alongside the businesses’ sectors and practice groups, along with being the sector lead for industrial and manufacturing.

Industrial and manufacturing has been identified as a growth sector for the business in the UK and Europe and Bryony Martin will build upon Mace’s manufacturing track record, with clients including Siemens, JLR and BMW, with a focus on electrification and the facilities needed to support growth.

Regionally, she will be looking to increase Mace’s footprint across both the private and public sectors.

With over 30 years of defence and nuclear experience and a background in mechanical engineering, Dave has delivered a number of major projects and programmes across the private and public sector, including within senior roles with the UK government and the International Atomic Energy Agency.

In his role, Dave Weatherburn will work closely with existing Mace clients to build on the businesses’ current nuclear service offering, whilst also focusing on expanding the Mace brand and capabilities across the wider sector.

With the nuclear team already successfully embedded within Sizewell C, Hinkley Point C, small modular reactor and wider decommissioning programmes, Weatherburn will play an integral role in driving forward a more sustainable, resilient and connected world, helping further develop the businesses’ position within this important energy arena.

‘Supporting the UK’s post-Covid recovery’

Jason Millett, CEO for consultancy at Mace, said: “Together, both Bryony and Dave bring a wealth of experience to two fast-growing sectors within the business: industrial and manufacturing and nuclear.

“Their hires represent an exciting time for Mace’s Consult business as we work towards meeting the ambitious targets set out in the 2026 business strategy.

“Our regional hubs and nuclear energy are both key to our future success and supporting the UK’s post-Covid recovery.

“I know that Bryony’s and Dave’s skills and experience will play an important part of achieving this.”

Bryony Martin, director for central region and sector lead for industrial and manufacturing at Mace, commented: “I’m looking forward to joining Mace at an exciting time for the business as we look to grow our work through the regional hubs and in the industrial and manufacturing sector.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for me to draw on my knowledge of and passion for the Midlands to lead Mace’s growth in the region.”

Dave Weatherburn, director for Nuclear at Mace, added: “With the government placing a renewed focus on nuclear energy and the recognition of its role in helping the country achieve energy security, it is a particularly exciting time to join Mace’s Nuclear team.

“I am genuinely humbled and honoured to join the Mace family and I look forward to helping implement the businesses’ ambitious 2026 strategy, which in the nuclear sector, will deliver a lasting clean energy legacy, alongside benefits for generations to come.”
