{"id":102149,"date":"2021-11-23T14:21:55","date_gmt":"2021-11-23T14:21:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=102149"},"modified":"2023-06-08T18:18:40","modified_gmt":"2023-06-08T17:18:40","slug":"revizto-collaboration-corner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/digital-construction\/bim-news\/revizto-collaboration-corner\/102149\/","title":{"rendered":"[VIDEO] Collaboration Corner: How Kier is using Revizto software onsite"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>In his latest episode of \u2018collaboration corner\u2019, Rhys Lewis travels to Cardiff to talk about all things <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/bim-news\/digital-construction-3\/101690\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">digital construction<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kier.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kier<\/a>\u2019s delivery team, and how they are using <a href=\"https:\/\/revizto.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Revizto software<\/a> to help deliver Fitzalan High School<\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KiFgyMJa2U0\" width=\"560\" height=\"314\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This episode of collaboration corner kicks off with Revizto director Rhys Lewis, who is onsite with client Kier in South Wales.<\/p>\n<p>Kier Group and Revizto signed a 3-year enterprise agreement earlier this year, which is the start of an exciting partnership.<\/p>\n<p>All project data within Revizto will be UK hosted, a critical requirement for many of Kier Group&#8217;s clients.<\/p>\n<p>This exciting news comes after a lengthy business-wide review by the digital leadership team including Andy Boutle, Louise Dawes &amp; others.<\/p>\n<p>The Digital by Default programme has really assisted in helping the business transform their collaboration processes as they embark on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/stakeholders\/revizto-integrated-collaboration-platform\/86903\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">deploying Revizto<\/a> across the board.<\/p>\n<h3>About the project<\/h3>\n<p>Lewis firstly meets with Russell Baker, senior BIM manager at Kier construction. He asks Baker about his role in the industry, and about the Fitzalan High School project.<\/p>\n<p>Baker said: \u201cI\u2019m the senior BIM manager for the western and Wales region, covering the whole of Cardiff, Wales and into Bristol and Cornwall. I\u2019ve been at Kier for nearly four years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFitzalan High School is a \u00a356m project, consisting of approximately 100 classrooms with four fantastic sports pitches and a four-lane, 25 metre swimming pool.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>\u2018Digital by Default; enhancing communication and collaboration with technology\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>Next, Rhys Lewis catches up with Jonathan Walters, senior BIM coordinator: \u201cI\u2019m a senior BIM coordinator at Kier, and currently we\u2019re bringing Revizto into this project. I\u2019ve been working with Kier for about 6 months now, and I\u2019m thoroughly enjoying it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lewis and Walters then head on to take a closer look at the project to show how Revizto technology is being used in the onsite construction process.<\/p>\n<h3>\u2018Client engagement significantly elevated\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>Back in the site cabin, Rhys sits down with Andrew Miles, senior project manager at Kier construction.<\/p>\n<p>Andrew tells us about his role at Kier: \u201cI\u2019ve been with Kier for 7 years. My first project was a hotel in the centre of Cardiff, and now I\u2019m here today to deliver Fitzalan High School, which is funded by 21<sup>st<\/sup> Century Schools, the Welsh government, and Cardiff County Council.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lewis asks how the spotlight is on Kier with their Revizto journey and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/bim-news\/clash-automation-collaboration\/100472\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">embracing digital technology.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Miles replies: \u201cKier are moving forward with digital technology. Revizto was brought to us five weeks ago, and we\u2019ve been on a couple of workshops as a team, to show us what Revizto can do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver the last three weeks we\u2019ve really been delving into how we can use Revizto to benefit the team. It\u2019s not just a model, it\u2019s got to benefit the site team not just on production, but also commercial and even CSR.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Miles goes on to explain how Revizto is being used on the construction site: \u201cOperations staff have got tablets. Four weeks ago, in very early stages of the process, we had Mrs J Kemp from Fitzalan High School, who brought the SLT team over for a regular visit.
