{"id":102555,"date":"2021-12-07T12:20:16","date_gmt":"2021-12-07T12:20:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=102555"},"modified":"2021-12-07T12:20:16","modified_gmt":"2021-12-07T12:20:16","slug":"kier-construction-framework","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/kier-construction-framework\/102555\/","title":{"rendered":"Kier appointed to \u00a37bn DfE 2021 Construction Framework"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kier.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kier<\/a> has been appointed to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/department-for-education\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Department for Education\u2019s<\/a> \u00a37bn construction framework, which will cover all types of education buildings in England, including schools, universities, and technical colleges<\/h2>\n<p>The four-year appointment will be a continuation of a 14-year relationship with the Department for Education.<\/p>\n<p>The 2021 Construction Framework can also be used to procure non-educational publicly funded schemes which is an exciting expansion for Kier to be a part of.<\/p>\n<p>This is the fifth time Kier has been awarded a position on the DfE\u2019s national framework having held places since the first Academies Framework in 2007. In that time, Kier has completed over 160 national framework projects worth over \u00a32bn, providing or improving 139,000 pupil places.<\/p>\n<p>The key projects delivered through the framework include the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/kier-new-schools-kent\/90099\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hartsdown Academy<\/a>, a secondary school in Kent where the second phase involved the demolition of three existing school buildings and the installation of a new, prefabricated modular building.<\/p>\n<p>Kier has also recently completed the part-new build and refurbishment of the locally listed Bemrose school in Derby, which was delivered while allowing the school to continue operate throughout construction.<\/p>\n<h3>Kier has been appointed to the following Lots:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>High-value band projects worth \u00a312m+ in the North and South.<\/li>\n<li>Low-value band projects worth \u00a30.5m-\u00a36m in the North East;
