will offer 297 bedrooms and a wide range of communal amenities<\/h2>\n<p>To make way for the new site, a parking area and two industrial units will be demolished. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/quality-and-quantity-of-homes\/102319\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Planning permission<\/a> was secured by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.urbangroup.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Urban Developments (York) Ltd\u2019s<\/a> engage student brand, which are both part of York-based Urban Group Ltd.<\/p>\n<p>The part five and part six storey scheme has been designed by Leeds-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brewsterbye.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brewster Bye Architects<\/a>, and will offer a mix of cluster apartments and studios, alongside a wide range of amenities and facilities which include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Study rooms<\/li>\n<li>A communal lounge<\/li>\n<li>Gym facilities<\/li>\n<li>A cinema<\/li>\n<li>Laundry facilities<\/li>\n<li>Cycle storage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\u2018Bringing hundreds of socially and economically active students into the area\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>Brendon Hutchinson, managing director of Urban Group (York) Ltd, said: \u201cSecuring planning permission for this scheme, which is within easy reach of the city\u2019s universities, is great news for the development team and Nottingham\u2019s Southside <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/tag\/regeneration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">regeneration area<\/a> as a whole.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will become a key phase in the area\u2019s master plan and will offer Nottingham\u2019s expanding student population exceptional homes with superb facilities, as well as bringing hundreds of socially and economically active students into this part of the city centre.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>\u2018An attractive and well-designed development\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>Andrew Chapman, from Brewster Bye Architects, also commented: \u201cNottingham City Council examined the plans in detail during the pre-application process and their feedback and strong design emphasis all contributed to the success of this planning application.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe council focussed on the bigger picture and proactively considered how an attractive and well-designed development would fit into the area\u2019s wider masterplan, as well as the positive benefits it would create for Traffic Street.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re extremely pleased to have led this scheme through such a prompt and efficient planning process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Work on the development is scheduled to commence in 2022.<\/p>\n<div
