{"id":103292,"date":"2022-01-06T14:14:05","date_gmt":"2022-01-06T14:14:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=103292"},"modified":"2022-01-07T09:31:43","modified_gmt":"2022-01-07T09:31:43","slug":"jonathan-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/jonathan-more\/103292\/","title":{"rendered":"Irwin Mitchell recruits Jonathan More as new partner in London"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>New partner Jonathan More joins the Construction &amp; Engineering Team at London based law firm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irwinmitchell.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Irwin Mitchell<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>The latest appointment takes the specialist construction team up to eighteen with four partners.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, it is led by Mark Clinton and sits within Irwin Mitchell\u2019s Property Division which now numbers 28 partners and 147 qualified lawyers.<\/p>\n<h3>Previous experience<\/h3>\n<p>Jonathan More was previously the lead <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/uk-construction-disputes\/94795\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">construction disputes<\/a> partner at chambers practice, Spencer West LLP.<\/p>\n<p>Before then, Jonathan More worked at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fenwickelliott.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fenwick Elliott<\/a> where spent time on a number of significant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/jct-dispute-adjudication-board\/94857\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">construction related disputes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He advised on a significant c. 1 billion USD International Arbitration (ICC) comprising a series of disputes in relation to major infrastructure project in the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>Others included advising in relation to a c. \u00a350m R&amp;D renewable power plant project dispute; advising in a multi-million EURO DAB dispute relating to a series of claims in respect of an Eastern European power plant; and finally advising in relation to a major refurbishment dispute relating to a private domestic residence valued at over \u00a320m in one of London\u2019s highest resi-value property streets.<\/p>\n<p>More has acted for one of the top contractors in the UK and Europe known as TCC and\u00a0advised on disputes all over the world including Saudi Arabia, Brazil and Hong Kong.<\/p>\n<p>His career also includes advising on some of the UK\u2019s most high-profile projects such as\u00a0Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh Trams, London Overground\u2019s East London Line extension and Crossrail.<\/p>\n<p>Other experience Jonathan More has benefitted from includes his eight years of working in-house.<\/p>\n<p>He also became an expert on NEC contracts after spending six years between 2009 and 2015 working for TfL and Crossrail.<\/p>\n<h3>\u2018Jonathan\u2019s appointment comes just at the right time\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>Mark Clinton, head of construction &amp; engineering at Irwin Mitchell said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJonathan\u2019s arrival will be a real boost to our national construction and engineering practice, particularly in London and will complement the arrival of construction partners Edward Davies and Richard Allan in Manchester just over twelve months ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur team has been inundated recently, supporting clients dealing with \u201cthe cladding crisis\u201d which shows no sign of abating in the short term.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJonathan\u2019s appointment comes just at the right time and we will benefit from his great experience and strong reputation. His entrepreneurial skills will help us as we drive forward the growth of our contentious practice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are now looking in the market for a new senior associate and a new associate in the construction team to support our growth ambitions.
