Construction pipeline forecast tool increases its database to over 1,500 across 20 sectors bringing value up to \u00a311bn<\/h2>\n

In July 2021, Scotland first launched the Construction Pipeline Forecast Tool<\/a> and Scotland\u2019s public bodies and private sector construction businesses have welcomed the benefits even since.<\/p>\n

The refreshed pipeline contains an expanded list of projects, with a value of \u00a311bn, and the number of registered website users exceeds 600.<\/p>\n

The Scottish Futures Trust<\/a> manages the Construction Pipeline Forecast Tool which was one of the actions coming out of the Scottish Construction Leadership Forum\u2019s Recovery Plan, published in October 2020 to support Scotland\u2019s construction industry to rebuild better.<\/p>\n

Why register on the website?<\/h3>\n

Private sector businesses should register on the website because they will gain access to specific details of over 1,500 future infrastructure projects<\/a> that have been submitted by 45 Scottish public bodies.<\/p>\n

Also, the website will allow for greater transparency on future construction workload.<\/p>\n

The pipeline aims to help businesses plan better and maintain their investment in skills and future training needs.<\/p>\n

In terms of the public sector, the pipeline will encourage greater collaboration between public sector organisations via a better understanding of their respective investment pipelines.<\/p>\n

Comments<\/h3>\n

Peter Reekie, chief executive of the Scottish Futures Trust and chair of the Executive Group of the Scottish Construction Leadership Forum said:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe work of the Scottish Futures Trust (SFT) in ensuring the Construction Pipeline Forecast Tool remains current and relevant, and provides the construction sector with vital information to help them manage their businesses effectively and plan for future work.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the first update since the Tool\u2019s launch last summer.\u00a0 The next update is planned for June 2022 where we anticipate continued support by public bodies submitting details of their infrastructure projects and increase the number of projects and awareness.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stuart Parker, managing director of Morgan Sindall, Scotland, member of the Construction Scotland Industry Leadership Group and Chair of the Pipeline & Commercials sub-group, added:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe tool has already provided invaluable insight for our business as we plan ahead, and we welcome the continued management by SFT and support by public bodies in providing their data. I would welcome public sector bodies whose projects are not included to engage with the Scottish Futures Trust and support this key initiative.\u201d<\/p>\n
