Construction Automation<\/a>, creator of the Automatic Brick Laying Robot (ABLR), has received NHBC Accepts approval<\/a><\/h2>\n

The Yorkshire-based company aims to modernise and advance traditional housebuilding processes through construction robots.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Automatic Brick Laying Robot (ABLR)<\/a> runs on a track and will build external walls and lay bricks, blocks and mortar.<\/p>\n

It is designed to increase productivity, improve on-site health and safety, guarantee build quality and help with skills shortages.<\/p>\n

The NHBC team has been assessing the product for over a year, undergoing rigorous testing and inspections of the robot in action.<\/p>\n

After receiving the NHBC Accepts<\/a> accreditation it can now be used in the construction of new homes.<\/p>\n

“Game-changing for the MMC sector”<\/h3>\n

Richard Lankshear, innovation manager at NHBC<\/a> said: “It\u2019s fantastic to see the ABLR achieve NHBC Accepts – it has been an intensive, year-long endeavor both for our team and Construction Automation and involved an extremely rigorous process.<\/p>\n

“MMC plays important role in the delivery of new homes in the UK and tackling the housing crisis, so it\u2019s very encouraging to see new technology like this coming through.<\/p>\n

“With the residential property industry under pressure to increase the volume of new homes, coupled with pressures on materials, skills and labour, MMC is at a critical stage.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019re pleased to be able to use our scale, expertise and knowledge to work with manufacturers and provide developers, investors, lenders and homebuyers with confidence that innovative new products and systems can meet the same high standards of quality and durability as traditionally-built homes.<\/p>\n

“The ABLR certainly won\u2019t be the last game-changing offering for the MMC sector, and we look forward to continuing to support ambitious new products and systems that will help to transform the way homes are delivered and boost housing delivery numbers in the years to come.”<\/p>\n
