Scandic<\/a> has entered a long-term lease agreement with Skanska<\/a> for a new climate-neutral hotel in Sundsvall<\/h2>\n

The climate-neutral hotel<\/a>, named Scandic Sundsvall Central, will feature 210-rooms, a restaurant and bar area on the ground floor and spa & wellness facilities, gym and meeting rooms on the first floor.<\/p>\n

Energy efficient<\/h3>\n

The building\u2019s frame, facade and interior will be made of wood<\/a>, meeting the requirements for the LEED Gold<\/a> certification. It will also have solar panels on the roof, so it will maintain a very high energy standard.<\/p>\n

The hotel is expected to open in 2024.<\/p>\n

‘Modern and attractive’<\/h3>\n

Peter Jangbratt, Head of Scandic Hotels Sweden, said: “Scandic\u2019s new hotel in Sundsvall will be a modern and attractive meeting place ideally located in an exciting area where we can see a growing demand for hotel accommodations.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019ve been developing the hotel together with Skanska<\/a> for the past two years and naturally, it feels extremely positive to be further strengthening our hotel offering in the city.”<\/p>\n

“It is gratifying to now have Scandic as a tenant – a company that shares our values in terms of sustainability and with which we have worked closely in other projects”, adds Joakim \u00c5kesson, Regional Manager at Skanska Sverige.<\/p>\n
