Keepmoat Homes<\/a> have proposed to redevelop a brownfield site into a housing development of 140 new affordable homes, in Bristol<\/h2>\n

The brownfield site, which will be based on Dovercourt Road, Horfield, will feature 76 one and two-bedroom apartments, and 64 houses including two and three-storey homes.<\/p>\n

The homes will benefit from improvements to the building fabric to increase energy efficiency, as well as low carbon heating systems<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Climate and ecological emergencies<\/h3>\n

The development will also provide ecological enhancements to improve nature conservation and biodiversity<\/a>. This will include retaining, enhancing and managing the woodlands next to the site for wildlife, as well as the provision of new native species-rich hedgerows.<\/p>\n

Keepmoat homes will work in partnership with Goram Homes and Bristol City Council and will submit an application for outline planning permission at the beginning of this year.<\/p>\n

Cllr Tom Renhard, cabinet member for housing delivery and homes said: “This partnership presents a fantastic opportunity for us to transform this under-used brownfield site and build more affordable homes in a great area of Bristol.<\/p>\n

“By focusing on building the new homes sustainably<\/a>, as well as improving the local environment as part of the proposals, the scheme can help us to meet Bristol\u2019s housing need, while responding to the climate and ecological emergencies.<\/p>\n

“I look forward to working with the community and our partners as the proposals are developed to make sure that any new development complements and supports the existing neighbourhood.”<\/p>\n
