{"id":103915,"date":"2022-01-19T14:06:37","date_gmt":"2022-01-19T14:06:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=103915"},"modified":"2022-01-19T14:06:37","modified_gmt":"2022-01-19T14:06:37","slug":"logistics-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/logistics-park\/103915\/","title":{"rendered":"Winvic Construction appointed to deliver Link Logistics Park in Ellesmere Port"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>The brownfield site will be converted into Link Logistics Park, consisting of a single unit and industrial space spanning more than 760,000 sq., making it the biggest single cross-docked industrial warehouse being developed in the UK this year<\/h2>\n<p>Following the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/winvic-ascent-logistics-park\/91546\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">successful delivery of Ascent Logistics Park<\/a> in Leighton Buzzard, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.firethorntrust.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Firethorn<\/a> have decided to use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winvic.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Winvic<\/a> again, making it their second deal together.<\/p>\n<p>Groundworks have already been completed for Links Logistics Park at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/aviator-phase-ii\/98484\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ellesmere Port<\/a> site, with construction to follow shortly. Completion is expected by Q4 2022.<\/p>\n<h3>Design and building standards<\/h3>\n<p>Winvic is known for their strong sustainability credentials and so Links Logistics Park will be built to net-zero carbon standards, with future provisions for renewable energy supply.<\/p>\n<h3>The design includes:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>LED lighting to offices<\/li>\n<li>photovoltaic arrays<\/li>\n<li>32 electric vehicle charging points, with ducting in place for additional 32 spaces<\/li>\n<li>up to 25MV of power will also be available from a local carbon-neutral \u2018Waste to Energy\u2019 facility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>&#8216;This is an ambitious, yet hugely exciting development for Firethorn&#8217;<\/h3>\n<p>Commenting on the appointment, Paul Martin, development director at Firethorn Trust said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the UK\u2019s largest speculative logistics scheme, this is an ambitious, yet hugely exciting development for Firethorn.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been impressed by Winvic\u2019s extensive knowledge, experience and ability to deliver a project of this scale, and look forward to working with the team to swiftly bring our vision for Link Logistics Park to life.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>&#8216;A\u00a0landmark development&#8217;<\/h3>\n<p>Winvic\u2019s director of Industrial, Distribution &amp; Logistics, Danny Nelson, added:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWinvic\u2019s reputation for delivering quality <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/industrial-warehouses\/103440\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">industrial schemes<\/a> is evidently being bolstered by our ability to deliver our clients\u2019 net zero ambitions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s fantastic to be working on such a landmark development, whilst building upon our partnership with Firethorn, whose presence within the UK logistics market continues to grow.
