Notting Hill Genesis<\/a> have submitted planning applications to transform London Legacy Development Corporation<\/a> sites around Hackney Wick station into a new neighbourhood centre<\/h2>\n

Chosen as a development partner in March 2021, and will provide 190 new homes, 50% of which will be affordable, and which will be five per cent larger than national standards.<\/p>\n

Across four buildings, there will be a mix of London Affordable Rent, shared ownership and private sale housing.<\/p>\n

The development will also provide more than 4,000sqm of commercial space, which creatives and small businesses will be able to benefit from.<\/p>\n

LLDC has also invested in high-quality architecture to support the wider transformation of the area into a thriving town centre, supporting existing communities and the development of new homes with re-provision of affordable workspaces.<\/p>\n

The development will also create further jobs and commercial opportunities planned and space for new retail, restaurants, bars and community facilities being provided.<\/p>\n

The Reserved Matters Application is compliant with the New London Plan for cycle parking provision and has a focus on sustainability<\/a>, with no fossil fuels needed to power the homes or commercial space.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe new homes, affordable workspace, employment space and high-quality public realm will make full use of the upgrades to Hackney Wick Station. While there will be significant change, we\u2019ll make sure we protect the most important buildings and areas of historic value.\u201d<\/p>\n

John Hughes, group director of development for Notting Hill Genesis, also commented: \u201cThe opportunity to develop a site like Hackney Wick, in a thriving area with fantastic transport links to the rest of London and beyond, is a really exciting one.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe look forward to working with LLDC to provide these new homes and workspaces and creating a desirable destination for individuals, families, businesses and visitors.\u201d<\/p>\n

The design team is led by Hawkins\\Brown with Delvendahl Martin and Studio Weave.<\/p>\n

Full planning approval is expected later this year followed by works beginning late 2022.<\/p>\n
