{"id":105891,"date":"2022-02-16T18:44:27","date_gmt":"2022-02-16T18:44:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=105891"},"modified":"2022-02-16T18:44:27","modified_gmt":"2022-02-16T18:44:27","slug":"civil-engineering-frameworks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/civil-engineering-frameworks\/105891\/","title":{"rendered":"SCAPE sets out timeline for its \u00a34bn civil engineering frameworks"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Leading public sector procurement authority SCAPE has put forward its timeline for its \u00a34bn civil engineering frameworks, with contractors now able to respond to a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) to submit their interest to bid<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.scape.co.uk\/liveprocurement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SCAPE<\/a> will operate a \u00a33.25bn framework for England, Wales and Northern Ireland and a separate \u00a3750m framework for Scotland. The predicted value of the civil engineering frameworks has increased from \u00a32.1bn to \u00a34bn.<\/p>\n<p>Firms will have until 25<sup>th<\/sup> March to answer the PQQ following the contract notice being submitted on 15<sup>th<\/sup> February.<\/p>\n<p>The new generation will run for a period of four years from 2023, with an option to be extended for a further two years until 2029. It follows on from the success of the existing frameworks which have commissioned more than 250 projects to date for public sector clients across the UK. These are are due to expire in January 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The fully-managed frameworks will more than double the capacity of infrastructure focused activity <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/scape-civil-engineering\/104380\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">procured through SCAPE.<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Sustainability<\/h3>\n<p>The civil engineering frameworks will give local authorities and public sector organisations better access to net-zero ready <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/next-generation-frameworks\/98116\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">specialist contractors<\/a> to speed up the delivery of sustainably designed major infrastructure projects &#8211; there is no defined upper limit for project value.<\/p>\n<h3>SME&#8217;s at the heart<\/h3>\n<p>The frameworks have been designed with small companies in mind &#8211; they aim to facilitate better access for small companies to major public sector contracts that might have otherwise been unavailable to them. It will also allow public organisations to procure local specialists.<\/p>\n<p>SCAPE is helping deliver more than 1,800 publicly funded projects across the UK and plans to issue invitations to tender (ITT) in June 2022 before the successful contractors are named in November 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Bidders are invited to register their interest for either one or both frameworks.<\/p>\n<h3>&#8216;Delivery of infrastructure has never been more important&#8217;<\/h3>\n<p>John Simons, group procurement director at SCAPE, added:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As we emerge into a post-pandemic world, the delivery of infrastructure with a clear focus on community value &#8211;
