{"id":106008,"date":"2022-02-17T14:54:26","date_gmt":"2022-02-17T14:54:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=106008"},"modified":"2024-09-10T16:13:24","modified_gmt":"2024-09-10T15:13:24","slug":"hydrogenated-vegetable-oil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/plant-equipment-supplies-news\/hydrogenated-vegetable-oil\/106008\/","title":{"rendered":"First crane company in the world moves to Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ainscough.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ainscough Crane Hire<\/a> has become the first crane company in the world to commit to using Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (HVO) fuel across its entire fleet<\/h2>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The company hopes that the adoption of Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/kier-hvo-fuels\/99433\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(HVO) fuel<\/a> will reduce <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/size-construction-equipment\/105008\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">carbon emissions<\/a> by up to 90%, saving in excess of 14,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.<\/p>\n<p>A combination of this and wider environmental initiatives means that Ainscough will become carbon neutral from April 2022 &#8211; the first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/plant-equipment-supplies-news\/crane-hire-hvo-fuel\/96856\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">crane company<\/a> in the world to do so.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The wider environmental initiatives include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Increasing the number of Stage V engines in Ainscough\u2019s fleet<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Encouraging sustainable life choices amongst staff<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Smart lighting and upgrades to heating systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What is HVO (Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil)?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">HVO is made largely of recycled vegetable oil and can be used as a direct replacement for diesel &#8211; meaning Ainscough will not have to make any modifications to its fleet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">It offers enhanced burning efficiency while delivering the same benefits and robustness as traditional fossil fuels.
