Fluor Corporation\u2019s Advanced Technologies & Life Sciences business is currently designing a portable mental health Smart Pod than can be easily transported anywhere in the world to respond to immediate medical need, such as global disasters<\/h2>\n

The portable mental health<\/a> Smart Pod<\/a> is being designed by Fluor<\/a> for the Baylor College of Medicine in collaboration with a team of experts at Baylor College of Medicine. Presently, the team is focussing on architectural and engineering design drawings for the fabrication of the Smart Pod.<\/p>\n

‘Deployable and expandable’<\/h3>\n

The president of Fluor\u2019s Advanced Technologies & Life Sciences business Juan Hern\u00e1ndez commented:<\/p>\n

“The Smart Pod will be deployable and expandable. It will be utilised to support both individual and group therapy for patients in locations where access to mental healthcare is challenging.\u201d<\/p>\n

Once designs for the Smart Pod have been drawn up and finalised, the unit will be deployed and expanded in Houston\u2019s Harris County Precinct 2 as part of Commissioner Adrian Garcia\u2019s access to healthcare initiative.<\/p>\n

Baylor College of Medicine is a private, independent health sciences centre in Houston, within the world’s largest medical centre Texas Medical Center.<\/p>\n
