Turner & Townsend<\/a> have announced that they have been appointed to run a new phase of the Social Housing Retrofit Accelerator, an advisory programme to support the decarbonisation of social housing across England<\/h2>\n

Known as the \u2018Technical Assistance Facility Bridge\u2019, the Social Housing Retrofit Accelerator is a fully-funded support service for social housing providers seeking to access the government\u2019s \u00a33.8bn Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The funding will enable housing providers to retrofit their homes<\/a> so they are more energy-efficient, cheaper to run, and support a better quality of life for residents.<\/p>\n

As the technical lead, Turner & Townsend supported social housing providers to access over \u00a3173.4m of funding from a total SHDF allocation of \u00a3178.9m.<\/p>\n

The new phase of the SHRA will commence from April 2022, offering a programme of one-to-one support, webinars and further resources. Turner & Townsend\u2019s appointment has a maximum value of \u00a34.95m, will run for an initial term until January 2023 with the potential for extension.<\/p>\n

Richard McWilliams, director of sustainability at Turner & Townsend, said: \u201cHaving successfully helped social housing providers access over \u00a3173m through the first wave of the landmark Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund, this next phase of the Social Housing Retrofit Accelerator will further increase momentum as the sector looks to achieve net zero.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy providing advice and expertise, we will support the upskilling of the housing sector and development of more, high-quality applications to Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund.<\/p>\n
