The housing association also wants to grow its portfolio by building 1,000 new affordable homes to help with the housing crisis. In addition, Magenta Living will carry out essential<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><span class=\"xnormaltextrun\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a;\"> maintenance work on its existing homes.\u202f<\/span><\/span><span class=\"xeop\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><span class=\"xnormaltextrun\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a;\">Magenta Living is the largest housing association landlord <\/span><\/span><span class=\"xnormaltextrun\">in Wirral and employs <span style=\"color: #0e101a;\">more than 600 people in the area. This makes Magenta Living<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0e101a;\">one of the leading employers in Wirral. Its vision is to build even more homes and eventually become a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/zero-carbon-homes-4\/101352\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">zero carbon housing provider<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Becoming a zero carbon housing provider<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><span class=\"xnormaltextrun\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a;\">NatWest&#8217;s funding will also <\/span><\/span><span class=\"xnormaltextrun\">enable Magenta Living to progress its Climate Change Strategy and work towards the Government\u2019s Zero Carbon Homes target by 2050.\u202f <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><span class=\"xnormaltextrun\">This will be achieved by\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><span class=\"xnormaltextrun\">a 30-year commitment from the business to help tackle climate change through methods such as:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><span class=\"xnormaltextrun\"> using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/nhbc-report-electric-vehicle-charging\/99719\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">electric vehicles<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><span class=\"xnormaltextrun\"> improving local green spaces<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><span class=\"xnormaltextrun\"> tackling fuel poverty<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><span class=\"xnormaltextrun\">improving the energy performance of its housing portfolio <\/span><span class=\"xeop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><span class=\"xnormaltextrun\">Magenta Living is also looking to retain its gold accreditation status from SHIFT environment, reflecting its sustainability credentials.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Improving quality of life with affordable homes<\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"xnormaltextrun\" style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Ann Monk, executive director of finance at Magenta Living said:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><span class=\"xnormaltextrun\">\u201cWe aim to enhance local communities and help people access a better quality of life through the provision of improved homes for affordable renting.
