{"id":107578,"date":"2022-03-14T15:58:30","date_gmt":"2022-03-14T15:58:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=107578"},"modified":"2022-03-14T15:58:30","modified_gmt":"2022-03-14T15:58:30","slug":"hill-group-planning-approval-for-new-energy-efficient-homes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/hill-group-planning-approval-for-new-energy-efficient-homes\/107578\/","title":{"rendered":"The Hill Group to build new energy efficient homes in Braintree"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hill.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Hill Group<\/a> have received planning approval from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.braintree.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Braintree Council<\/a> planning committee to build a collection of new energy efficient homes in Finchingfield, Braintree<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Plans to build 50 new<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/building-energy-performance-gap\/107260\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> energy efficient homes<\/a> in the village of Finchingfield have received unanimous planning approval from local planning officers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Hill Group has gained consent to build a collection of homes &#8211; 40% of which will be affordable &#8211; ranging from one-bedroom apartments to five-bedroom family houses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The new energy efficient homes have been designed to complement the character of Finchingfield.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Through consultation with Finchingfield and Great Bardfield Parish Councils, Braintree District Council, local residents, and key stakeholders, the homes have been designed in a traditional, regional architectural style that exceeds standards for both green space and carbon reduction.<\/p>\n<h3>Homes have been developed to reduce the developments overall carbon footprint<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Each home will be fitted with sustainable air-source heat pump technology and electric car charging points, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/sustainable-construction-materials\/105087\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reducing the development&#8217;s overall carbon footprint<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The approved plans include landscaping and ample green space to improve resident health and wellbeing, as well as blending with the stunning local landscape of North Essex.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Furthermore, over 130 new trees will be planted with a variety of new flora to increase wildlife habitat, resulting in a 26% gain in biodiversity.<\/p>\n<h3>The new development will deliver much-needed homes to Braintree<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Andy Hill, group chief executive of Hill, commented: &#8220;Through collaborative consultation with residents, the parish and district councils, we are delighted to receive consent and excited to be delivering much-needed homes in this popular location.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;We specialise in creating bespoke, beautiful developments, and I&#8217;m proud that our designs have captured the character of this stunning village.
