{"id":107852,"date":"2022-03-18T10:52:21","date_gmt":"2022-03-18T10:52:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=107852"},"modified":"2022-03-18T10:52:21","modified_gmt":"2022-03-18T10:52:21","slug":"kier-awarded-central-bedfordshire-construction-framework","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/kier-awarded-central-bedfordshire-construction-framework\/107852\/","title":{"rendered":"Kier awarded place on \u00a3500m Central Bedfordshire Construction Framework"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Leading construction and infrastructure services provider Kier has been awarded a place on Lots 4 and 5 of the Central Bedfordshire Construction Framework<\/h2>\n<p>The Central Bedfordshire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/arc-partnership-building-framework-nottinghamshire\/107556\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Construction Framework<\/a> is the first of its type to be released by Bedfordshire Council and will run for four years.<\/p>\n<p>Lot 4 covers projects worth \u00a38m-\u00a315m and will likely include a mix of major projects for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/isg-pullman-singapore-orchard-refurbishment\/107372\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">refurbishments<\/a>, remodelling and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/new-build-co2-emissions\/103053\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">new builds<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Lot 5 is for projects over \u00a315m and is likely to include the same: a mix of major projects for refurbishments, remodelling and new builds.<\/p>\n<h3>The Central Bedfordshire Construction Framework may extend beyond Central Bedfordshire Council<\/h3>\n<p>Projects procured under the framework will mainly cover Central Bedfordshire Council but could also include work for other public contracting authorities and bodies, such as East Anglia, Leicestershire, Rutland, Northamptonshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Dady, managing director at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kier.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kier<\/a> Eastern &amp; Midlands, said:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re extremely pleased to have been awarded a place on the inaugural framework, which will deliver a large number of public sector schemes over the next four years and provide us with the opportunity to use our strong regional supply chain and technical expertise to delivery exceptional value for Central Bedfordshire Council and the community.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>&#8216;Having our own procurement framework&#8230; will offer cost savings and speed up the procurement process&#8217;<\/h3>\n<p>Councillor and executive member for housing and assets Eugene Ghent said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaving our own procurement framework and choosing from a carefully selected group of firms has significant benefits. It will offer cost savings and speed up the procurement process meaning we can get schemes built quicker.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Importantly, we will work closely with a smaller number of firms forging important relationships and this collaborative working will ensure we can deliver quality, value for money projects which support our ambitions for Central Bedfordshire and our residents. We look forward to working closely with our selected partners over the next four years as we build prosperity for our local communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This appointment to the Central Bedfordshire Construction Framework follows on from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/kier-manchester-airports-group-capital-works-framework\/107190\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kier\u2019s recent successes on regional frameworks<\/a>, including the \u00a3150m Cambridgeshire County Council Design &amp;
