Henry Boot Construction has been appointed to deliver Pound\u2019s Park, a new public park in Sheffield, with work set to get underway this month<\/h2>\n

Pound’s Park is a key feature of Sheffield City Council\u2019s Heart of the City programme and Henry Boot Construction<\/a>\u2019s third project within the wider scheme.<\/p>\n

The Sheffield<\/a>-based firm has already began work on a major residential development<\/a> Kangaroo Works, and a second site of the Elshaw House office development and Cambridge Street Collective.<\/p>\n

Pound’s Park has been named after Sheffield\u2019s first chief fire Officer, superintendent John Charles Pound<\/h3>\n

Located on the site of the former fire station between Rockingham Street, Wellington Street and Carver Street, Pound’s Park<\/a> has been named after Sheffield\u2019s first chief fire officer, superintendent John Charles Pound. The new public park will integrate a network of open spaces that run from Devonshire Green through to the Peace Gardens.<\/p>\n

Safety, accessibility, and escapism are at the heart of this project. The park aims to add a distinctive character to Sheffield’s busy urban environment. The green space will prioritise walking, cycling, active play and relaxation. Pound’s Park will bring the Outdoor City ethos right into Sheffield city centre and provide a visually attractive area to host sporting events<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Henry Boot Construction are utilising local supply chains and local employment<\/h3>\n

Pagabo has procured the contract for Pound\u2019s Park and construction is expected to take around one year to complete.<\/p>\n

Henry Boot Construction has made a commitment to Sheffield’s local economy and people; as a result they aim to use a local supply chains wherever possible, site-specific employment and various training initiatives.<\/p>\n

In addition to Sheffield, Henry Boot Construction is currently working on several other high-profile projects across Yorkshire, including the Cocoa Works in York.<\/p>\n
