{"id":108191,"date":"2022-03-24T10:55:27","date_gmt":"2022-03-24T10:55:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=108191"},"modified":"2022-03-24T10:55:27","modified_gmt":"2022-03-24T10:55:27","slug":"constructing-west-midlands-wednesbury-health-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/constructing-west-midlands-wednesbury-health-centre\/108191\/","title":{"rendered":"Interclass to appointed deliver \u00a35m Wednesbury health centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/interclass.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Interclass<\/a> has been appointed by Sandwell Council to deliver the new state-of-the-art Wednesbury health centre, a \u00a35m project procured through the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructingwestmidlands.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a0Constructing West Midlands framework<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>The Wednesbury health centre will enable better patient access and replace services that are currently provided at the Mesty Croft Clinic in Alma Street, and a temporary building located in Albert Street used by Spires Health Centre.<\/p>\n<p>The new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/cancer-and-surgery-centre\/104272\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">healthcare centre<\/a> will be larger than existing healthcare facilities, and will include a suite of consulting, treatment, and meeting rooms as well as 32 on-site car parking spaces and an ambulance drop-off area.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme also includes the construction of five new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/new-council-homes-brent-church-end\/107370\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">council homes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sandwell.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sandwell Council<\/a>, in collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackcountryandwestbirmccg.nhs.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Black Country &amp; West Birmingham Clinical Commissioning Group<\/a>, have worked together to resolve issues such as land improvement and enabling works to develop the scheme.<\/p>\n<p>Land improvement work was grant funded by the Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership with Homes England part-funding the project\u2019s housebuilding costs.<\/p>\n<p>The 25-year lease of the health centre will be taken on by the GP practice, enabling them to relocate from their current temporary site at Victoria Street.<\/p>\n<h3>The new Wednesbury health centre will provide a modern facility for patients and staff<\/h3>\n<p>Des O\u2019Neill, managing director of Interclass commented: \u201cWe are delighted to be involved in this important scheme which will result in a fantastic and modern facility for the patients and staff of Wednesbury.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Interclass has an extensive record of delivering healthcare facilities and we are especially pleased to further grow our relationship with Sandwell Council on this project.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>New healthcare centre will provide improved accessibility and services<\/h3>\n<p>Andrew Lawley, director of estates for Black Country &amp;
