{"id":108270,"date":"2022-03-25T12:30:31","date_gmt":"2022-03-25T12:30:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=108270"},"modified":"2022-03-25T12:34:09","modified_gmt":"2022-03-25T12:34:09","slug":"planning-agreed-overstone-green-development-northampton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/planning-agreed-overstone-green-development-northampton\/108270\/","title":{"rendered":"Planning agreed for Overstone Green development in Northampton"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Outline planning permission has been approved for 1600 new homes and a major commercial area at Overstone Green development, Northampton<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pegasusgroup.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pegasus Group<\/a> secured the outline permission from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/solar-farm-in-west-northamptonshire\/93788\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">West Northamptonshire<\/a> Council on behalf of Davidsons Developments Ltd and L&amp;Q Estates for 1600 new homes and a major <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/willmott-dixon-northminster-housing-commercial-development\/108085\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">commercial development<\/a> at Overstone Green, located to the northeast of Northampton.<\/p>\n<p>The Overstone Green development is located on land east of Kettering Road, Northampton and will secure and deliver the balance of the Northampton North Sustainable Urban Extension (SUE) as allocated in the adopted West Northamptonshire Joint Core Strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Plans for the Overstone Green development were unanimously approved by Councillors following a recommendation for approval by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/planning-consultants-engage-hard-to-reach-communities-built-id\/108253\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">planning officers<\/a>. Planning permission also includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1,600 new homes<\/li>\n<li>works to accommodate a new section of A43 dual carriageway<\/li>\n<li>a 5.73ha of commercial land development<\/li>\n<li>employment area<\/li>\n<li>local centre<\/li>\n<li>community hub<\/li>\n<li>new primary school<\/li>\n<li>an assisted living\/residential care home<\/li>\n<li>allotments<\/li>\n<li>children&#8217;s play area<\/li>\n<li>structural landscape planting<\/li>\n<li>associated infrastructure such as drainage features, footpaths and cycleways and vehicular access<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>&#8216;This is an important strategic site for our business located in a strong market area&#8217;<\/h3>\n<p>Pegasus Group has more than 400 skilled and experienced staff operating from 16 locations throughout the UK and will be responsible for providing planning, design, economics, environmental and heritage expertise throughout the project.<\/p>\n<p>Rachel Pramayon from Davidsons Development Ltd said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted that outline permission has been granted for this exciting scheme which is set to deliver a high-quality development focusing on place making and design.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Richard Edwards from L&amp;Q Estates added:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an excellent outcome that has resulted from several years of hard work and effort from all the team.
