Skanska has collaborated with key industry leaders and launched the Construction Productivity Taskforce to improve productivity and project delivery<\/h2>\n

Skanska<\/a>, alongside key industry professionals, has released ‘Measuring Construction Site Productivity: A seven-step framework for success’.<\/p>\n

The framework has been informed by some of the biggest names in construction and sets out a practical methodology for ways to measure and improve productivity<\/a>. In fact, it is the first guidance to be published by the taskforce since its inception in 2020.<\/p>\n

The seven-step framework sets out everything needed to measure productivity and support implementation on a project.<\/p>\n

The Construction Productivity Taskforce\u00a0is also working together to establish the Construction Data Trust \u2013 a non-profit organisation committed to transforming how projects are delivered, using a data-led approach \u2013 and the Private Sector Construction Playbook.<\/p>\n

An insight from one of the taskforce representatives<\/h3>\n

Both Katy Dowding, executive vice president and Greg Craig, president and CEO represent Skanska UK on the Construction Productivity Taskforce. Technical and efficiency director, Dr Peter Jones has also contributed significantly to the framework development.<\/p>\n

Dowding made the following comments on the framework and ways to improve productivity:<\/p>\n

\u201cConstruction productivity has stagnated, lagging behind other industries for many years. It\u2019s now vital we work together to address this and create greater levels of productivity on our sites, which not only benefit clients, contractors and the supply chain in terms of time and cost, but also improve safety, quality and carbon performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe aim of the framework is to establish a mindset where productivity is central to planning and management and considered as early in the design process as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIntegral to what the taskforce has been able to achieve so far has been collaboration. This will underpin how quickly we\u2019re able to drive a more productive industry. The work undertaken together between the parties involved in the taskforce has really driven the progress so far and coupled with a partnership approach to implementation of the updated Playbook guidance, collaboration will be the single biggest success factor.\u201d<\/p>\n
