{"id":110885,"date":"2022-05-16T12:16:09","date_gmt":"2022-05-16T11:16:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=110885"},"modified":"2022-05-16T12:16:09","modified_gmt":"2022-05-16T11:16:09","slug":"bristol-dockland-project-mcarthurs-yard-tops-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/bristol-dockland-project-mcarthurs-yard-tops-out\/110885\/","title":{"rendered":"Bristol Dockland project, McArthur\u2019s Yard, tops out"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 align=\"justify\">McArthur\u2019s Yard, a major redevelopment project to transform Bristol Docklands, has reached a key milestone and topped out<\/h2>\n<p align=\"justify\">Once complete, McArthur\u2019s Yard will feature 142 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/2-6m-boost-for-bright-green-homes-in-bristol\/90037\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">new homes<\/a> of which 50% will be affordable.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">A range of one, two and three-bedroom homes for shared ownership, market sale and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/build-to-rent-bristol\/87311\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social rent<\/a> as well as commercial space will be on offer.<\/p>\n<h3 align=\"justify\">McArthur\u2019s Yard includes a number of sustainable and lifestyle features<\/h3>\n<p align=\"justify\">McArthur\u2019s Yard includes cycle spaces and electric car charging points, and it will also generate 20% of its energy via renewables.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The project is being delivered by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guinnesspartnership.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Guinness Partnership<\/a> in collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hill.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Hill Group<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The Hill Group broke ground on the brownfield land &#8211; that stood derelict for over 20 years &#8211;\u00a0 at the end of 2021.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">It is scheduled to be complete in Summer 2024.<\/p>\n<h3 align=\"justify\">Much-needed new homes on Bristol&#8217;s waterfront<\/h3>\n<p align=\"justify\">Ben Cook, development director &#8211; South at The Guinness Partnership comments: &#8220;Today\u2019s event marks a key moment in the regeneration of this important site and signals the excellent progress being made on the project.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">&#8220;The topping out of McArthur\u2019s Yard brings us another step closer to delivering new homes for the people of Bristol, and a new waterfront development that will enhance this important part of the city.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3 align=\"justify\">Unlocking the value of brownfield sites to revitalise key urban areas<\/h3>\n<p align=\"justify\">Andy Fancy, regional managing director for Hill, said: &#8220;It is vital to unlocking the value of brownfield sites to deliver <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/mmc-news\/modular-housing-south-west\/95538\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">much-needed housing<\/a> and revitalise key urban areas.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">&#8220;Here at McArthur\u2019s Yard, we have been working with Guinness to revitalise a long derelict site, applying our expertise and know-how to create what will be a major new district on the Bristol waterfront.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">&#8220;We are proud to have already reached the topping out phase of the project as the scheme takes shape.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The development will contribute significant social value towards the local community by bringing employment and supply chain opportunities.
