James Corker, former Morgan Sindall director, has been appointed as the new Skanska rail<\/a> director<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

James Corker will officially be appointed as the new Skanska rail director on Monday 20 June.<\/p>\n

Corker has more than 20 years\u2019 experience in rail and civil engineering<\/a>, as well as customer relationship management, operational efficiency and business leadership.<\/p>\n

Former area director at Morgan Sindall<\/h3>\n

He most recently held the position of area director at Morgan Sindall where he was responsible for all Network Rail and third-party rail projects.<\/p>\n

In addition to his work in the rail sector, James has been responsible for operations in the highways, power, nuclear and water sectors.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Corker has delivered a number of notable projects including:<\/h4>\n
    \n
  • the Werrington Grade Separation, a \u00a3169m design and build dive under scheme on the east coast mainline;<\/li>\n
  • the Edinburgh Glasgow Improvement Programme (EGIP) \u2013 a \u00a3200m electrification programme including the EGIP Alliance and Stirling, Dunblane, Alloa (SDA) electrification;<\/li>\n
  • the Kings Cross remodelling, a \u00a3259m throat remodelling project in the heart of an operational Kings Cross Station;<\/li>\n
  • the Ilford depot for Crossrail;<\/li>\n
  • and the Reading Depot for Network Rail on the Reading Station Area Regeneration programme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Jonathan Willcock, managing director of Skanska\u2019s Infrastructure business, said: “James has significant rail sector and industry experience and we\u2019re delighted that he is joining Skanska.<\/p>\n

    “We have exciting growth plans for the future and James\u2019 capabilities, including his knowledge and understanding of our markets aligned with his customer focus, will support the strategic development of our business.<\/p>\n

    “James also has a very clear alignment with our culture and values. He will provide leadership, supporting our operational teams to deliver successful projects that leave a lasting benefit for society. We\u2019re very much looking forward to James joining the business later this month.”<\/p>\n

    Skanksa has a number of high-profile projects<\/h3>\n
