{"id":111874,"date":"2022-06-16T15:29:51","date_gmt":"2022-06-16T14:29:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=111874"},"modified":"2022-06-16T15:29:51","modified_gmt":"2022-06-16T14:29:51","slug":"donaldson-timber-systems-dts-buildoffsite-property-assurance-scheme-plus-bopas-plus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/mmc-news\/donaldson-timber-systems-dts-buildoffsite-property-assurance-scheme-plus-bopas-plus\/111874\/","title":{"rendered":"Donaldson Timber Systems achieves BOPAS Plus"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Donaldson Timber Systems (DTS) becomes one of the first manufacturers to achieve <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/stakeholders\/offsite-membership-organisation\/46989\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Buildoffsite<\/a> Property Assurance Scheme Plus (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bopas.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BOPAS<\/a> Plus)<\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BOPAS Plus is a durability assessment for advanced, offsite build systems and focuses on the preparedness of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/featured\/offsite-sector-response-construction-playbook\/110458\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">offsite sector<\/a> to drive digitisation and collaboration in the construction industry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BOPAS is the industry benchmark to demonstrate to funders, lenders, valuers and purchasers that homes built using offsite will have a life of at least 60 years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The accreditation process involves a rigorous assessment, including a two-stage review;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a detailed interview with Lloyds Register<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and a full day audit, where the business is required to provide evidence on the plans in place to deliver on its five-year plan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>DTS is one of three UK businesses to achieve BOPAS Plus<\/h3>\n<p>Donaldson Timber Systems (DTS) is one of only three businesses in the UK to hold the new accreditation.<\/p>\n<p>The DTS Sigma\u00ae II system, was one of the first offsite build systems originally to be accredited by BOPAS in 2013.<\/p>\n<h3>DTS Sigma\u00ae II build system<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rod Allan, managing director, Donaldson Timber Systems said: &#8220;BOPAS plus is a fantastic achievement for the business, and will help to ensure that we have a clear differentiator when promoting our Sigma\u00ae II build system to the market.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;An increased use of our Sigma\u00ae II system will reduce the energy required by customers to run their homes, as well as very low embodied carbon from the construction of the home.
