UK and European construction manufacturers are invited to join a free webinar to help guide companies through the requirements of UKCA (United Kingdom Conformity Assessment) marking and access to markets in 2023<\/h2>\n

The UKCA: Access to UK Market for Construction Products Post-BREXIT webinar<\/a> will be held on Monday 25 July.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Recent changes announced by the British government to ease the transition to UKCA marking have helped to create new options for manufacturers. However, construction manufacturers<\/a> in the door and window, facades, glazing and other sectors are still facing a rapidly approaching deadline to satisfy the new UKCA marking requirements no later than 1 January 2023.<\/p>\n

What will the UKCA webinar cover?<\/h3>\n

The webinar will cover the possible routes to market (both for European companies selling into the UK and vice versa), the timescales for UKCA marking, and how testing and certification requirements are changing for all relevant construction products, particularly those products and building systems within the European Commission\u2019s AVCP System 1 and System 3, and the special cases covering fenestration and curtain walling systems and internal fire doors.<\/p>\n

The webinar will also offer advance notice of UL\u2019s new testing facilities in Blockley, Gloucestershire which are due to open later this year. The new laboratory will help address UK and European manufacturers\u2019 concerns about the shortfall in capacity in the product certification and testing sector.<\/p>\n

Help construction manufacturers prepare for UKCA changes<\/h3>\n

To help companies prepare for these changes taking effect in just six months\u2019 time, the webinar is being hosted by global safety leader UL International (UK)<\/a> and its partner organisation in Germany, ift Rosenheim.<\/p>\n

Both organisations collaborate on product conformity marking, fire safety testing and third-party certification in the U.K. and Europe. Key speakers will include Prof. J\u00f6rn P. Lass and Roland Fischer from ift Rosenheim, and Chris Miles and Mark Swanborough from UL, and they will be answering delegates\u2019 questions afterwards.<\/p>\n

The free webinar takes place online for 90 minutes on Monday 25 July at 14:00 BST \/ 15:00 CEST.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
