He was also secretary of state for communities and local government from May 2015 until July 2016. He then took up the role of secretary of state for business, energy and industrial strategy from July 2016 to July 2019.<\/p>\n<h3>Housing and construction ministers resign<\/h3>\n<p>Earlier this week, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/housing-and-construction-ministers-boris-johnson-resign\/112896\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">housing and construction ministers<\/a> Stuart Andrew and Lee Rowley resigned from their posts.
