{"id":113210,"date":"2022-07-18T11:41:35","date_gmt":"2022-07-18T10:41:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=113210"},"modified":"2022-07-18T11:41:35","modified_gmt":"2022-07-18T10:41:35","slug":"kier-appointed-to-deliver-net-zero-carbon-commercial-development-in-london","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/kier-appointed-to-deliver-net-zero-carbon-commercial-development-in-london\/113210\/","title":{"rendered":"Kier appointed to deliver net zero carbon commercial development in London"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kier.co.uk\/sustainability\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kier<\/a> has been appointed to design and construct the \u00a369m mixed-use sustainable commercial development &#8211; 135 Park Street Southbank &#8211; by Barings and LBS<\/h2>\n<p>The commercial development will provide 131,900 sq.ft of office space, 12,900 sq. ft of affordable <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/digital-construction\/bim-news\/immersive-workspace\/91891\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">workspace<\/a>, and a further 1,500 sq. ft of retail space, extending the regeneration of Bankside eastwards.<\/p>\n<p>135 Park Street Southbank will be within walking distance of Shakespeare\u2019s Globe Theatre and the Tate Modern.<\/p>\n<h3>Reducing carbon during construction and throughout the building\u2019s lifecycle<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/featured\/causeway-tradex-edi-solution-kier-group\/112349\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kier<\/a> is aiming to achieve <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/winners-breeam-awards-2022-announced-bre\/108125\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BREEAM \u2018Outstanding\u2019<\/a> along with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/energy-efficiency-offices\/101118\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">5-star NABERS rating for sustainability in high-specification commercial buildings.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Kier aims to reach these targets by methods including using low carbon concrete and a prefabricated fa\u00e7ade along with efficient M&amp;E (Mechanical &amp; Engineering) services with SMART technologies to ensure operational excellence.
