Ramboll<\/a>, global engineering and consultancy company, has appointed Johnny Ojeil as the new head of transport planning<\/h2>\n

Johnny Ojeil joins Ramboll as the new head of transport planning<\/a> following a 33-year long career with Arup.<\/p>\n

Commenting on his appointed, he said: “I am delighted to be taking on the UK transport planning lead role at Ramboll. The organisation has a lot of UK and international in smart mobility and transport planning, and I am looking forward to expanding Ramboll\u2019s UK capabilities and team in an environment that has a strong focus on people.”<\/p>\n

Ojeil has extensive experience in transport and infrastructure planning, public transport, traffic engineering\/planning and highway engineering.<\/p>\n

He has worked on major Multi-Modal Studies including master-planning for numerous authorities and developers in Europe, Middle East, Africa and the Far East.<\/p>\n

Ojeil worked as project director for the Commonwealth Games<\/h3>\n

Recently, Ojeil served as project director for the Commonwealth Games and was responsible for the delivery of a series of projects related to accessibility planning<\/a> and modelling work.<\/p>\n

He has also worked with Luton and Birmingham airports, with national clients such as Tesco, as well as sports organisations including Reading Football club.<\/p>\n

International work experience on the JASPERS framework<\/h3>\n

Internationally, he has delivered work as part of the JASPERS framework for the European Investment Bank and with EBRD on a series of projects. He has also led on EU multi country projects in the MENA region.<\/p>\n

Council member for the AET<\/h3>\n

Ojeil is a fellow at the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation and ex Midland\u2019s region chair, and an elected council member for the Association of European Transport (AET), where he also chairs the Aviation Committee.<\/p>\n

He has also delivered lectures at the University of Birmingham for the past 10 years as a senior honorary lecturer and is an industrial advisory board member for their MSc road planning and management course.<\/p>\n

Developing a significant transport planning and smart mobility team<\/h3>\n

Dan Harvey, executive director for transport at Ramboll UK, commented: “The breadth and depth of our transport division has seen significant growth in recent years, and Johnny\u2019s appointment marks the next phase in the growth for a significant transport planning and smart mobility team in the UK.<\/p>\n
