Living Space<\/a> has begun construction at an EPC A-rated housing development worth \u00a310m in Bromsgrove<\/h2>\n

Living Space recently received planning approval from Bromsgrove District Council for a new EPC A-rated housing development<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 1.73 Ha (4.27 acre) project will feature 60 affordable properties<\/a> located off Perryfields Road in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.<\/p>\n

The new 2-storey homes will help to alleviate the Council\u2019s shortfall in its five-year housing land supply position.<\/p>\n

Heat pumps and solar roof panels will make it one of the most eco-efficient affordable dwellings<\/h3>\n

The mix of one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes will be installed with air source heat pumps<\/a> and solar PV roof panels<\/a> and will be amongst the UK\u2019s most eco-efficient affordable dwellings.<\/p>\n

Parking will be provided for both residents and visitors.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Local materials will be used to replicate nearby traditional dwellings<\/h3>\n

The homes, designed by architects Stephen George and Partners, will be constructed in red brick and rendered to complement the terraced, semi-detached, and detached homes within the area.<\/p>\n

The open spaces within the development layout plan include landscaping and ecological enhancements, while the infrastructure requirements of the BROM2 housing allocation are being met by the adjacent large scheme.<\/p>\n

Paul Breen, managing director of Living Space, said: “Only 2% of new homes are currently being built to EPC A standards, which indicates the highest energy efficiency and performance standards.<\/a><\/p>\n

“Stonewater\u2019s future residents will benefit from homes that self-generate a proportion of household electricity, which when combined with the air source heat pumps, will significantly minimise grid energy use.<\/p>\n

“In addition, EV charging points<\/a> will be installed as standard, enabling solar energy to be used to power cars too. These outstanding homes will be fit for the future while combining the kerb appeal of traditional architecture<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

The EPC A-rated housing development is being delivered for housing provider Stonewater<\/h3>\n

Matt Crucefix, director of Development (West and South) at Stonewater said: “We\u2019re pleased to be working with Living Space again, to bring this important development to life and enhance the provision of varying types of affordable housing in Bromsgrove.<\/p>\n

“There is a substantial unmet housing need within this area, with many people who work in the District commuting in.<\/p>\n

“By installing air source heat pumps and solar PV panels, all future residents will be able to significantly reduce their carbon footprint.<\/a><\/p>\n

“Across all our new developments we\u2019re looking for ways to cut carbon emissions to support our sustainability commitments, but also to ensure we\u2019re providing energy efficient, comfortable homes that are affordable for our customers.”<\/p>\n

The first homes will be available to move into during 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n
