The HBF Star Rating scheme has been expanded, with the addition of major structural warranty providers Premier Guarantee and LABC Warranty<\/h2>\n

Home builders and developers who are members of the Home Builders Federation (HBF)<\/a> will now be eligible to opt into the HBF Star Rating scheme via Premier Guarantee and LABC Warranty\u2019s New Homes Survey.<\/p>\n

The nationwide HBF survey recognises excellence in customer satisfaction by awarding participating members a rating of between one and five stars based on homeowners\u2019 feedback.<\/p>\n

In 2021 almost 100,000 questionnaires were sent out to new build home buyers, with 91% saying they would \u201crecommend their builder to a friend.\u201d<\/p>\n

Data for the scheme will be collected via the New Homes Survey carried out by Premier Guarantee<\/a> and LABC Warranty, and the National New Homes Survey through the National House-Building Council (NHBC).<\/p>\n

Premier Guarantee and LABC Warranty are the largest providers of structural warranties in the UK<\/h3>\n

Backed by A-rated insurers, they work alongside house builders and developers large and small to help construct new homes and developments.<\/p>\n

HBF is the principal representative body for private sector home builders and voice of the home building industry in England and Wales.<\/p>\n

Jacki Goodman, managing director of MD Insurance Services Ltd, the scheme administrator for Premier Guarantee and LABC Warranty, said: \u201cThis is fantastic news for our customers and buyers of new homes.<\/p>\n

\u201cHouse builders can opt into the New Homes Survey and the HBF Star Rating scheme to underline their commitment to quality construction. I am confident the feedback will act as a further endorsement of the work we do with them to maintain high standards of construction.\u201d<\/p>\n

A barometer for a house builders’ performance<\/h3>\n

HBF Executive Chairman Stewart Baseley commented: \u201cThe star rating scheme is seen as the barometer for a house builders\u2019 performance with regards to customer service. The industry is already surveying around 100,000 customers annually and the addition of Premier Guarantee and LABC Warranty should allow for the opinions of even more to be considered.<\/p>\n
