L&Q and The Hill Group have begun work on a new affordable housing development on the Brentford Citroen site, which will provide 441 new homes, a resident\u2019s gym and a nursery<\/h2>\n

Work has begun on a new affordable housing development on the Brentford Citroen site in West London.<\/p>\n

The development is part of the Brentford regeneration project, next to the new Brentford FC and London Irish stadium.<\/p>\n

The scheme will deliver 441 new homes in buildings up to 18 storeys tall<\/h3>\n

50% of the new homes will be affordable and include a mix of Shared Ownership<\/a> and Affordable Rented homes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The plans comprise five buildings of heights up to 18 storeys, and spectacular southerly views of the Thames and Kew Gardens, and also include a public square, alongside significant investment in local infrastructure improvements.<\/p>\n

The joint venture partnership will also provide a range of social benefits for the local area during the construction of the affordable housing development on the Brentford Citroen site, including investment in significant employment, training and community-focused<\/a> opportunities.<\/p>\n

Adding social value to Brentford with affordable housing and job opportunities<\/h3>\n

Vicky Savage, executive group director of Development and Sales at L&Q, said: \u201cWe are delighted to be taking this exciting project forward together with our partners at The Hill Group.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe redevelopment of this strategic site in Brentford will bring forward a significant number of much-needed affordable homes in a beautiful new neighbourhood. By joining forces with Hill, a like-minded partner who shares our vision for the area, we\u2019ve been able to get spades in the ground whilst unlocking investment in jobs and opportunities for local people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Regional director for The Hill Group, Cain Peters, commented, “We are excited to be on site and embarking on our first joint venture with L&Q, one of the most highly respected housing associations in the country. We are focused on adding social value<\/a> to Brentford and will be working closely with the local community to provide training and jobs<\/a>. We welcome local residents to make contact if they are interested in pursuing a career in construction.\u201d<\/p>\n

Construction works have started on site, with residents expected to move into the first affordable homes by September 2024. The project is expected to complete by the end of 2026.<\/p>\n
