{"id":116073,"date":"2022-09-27T17:13:01","date_gmt":"2022-09-27T16:13:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=116073"},"modified":"2022-09-27T17:13:01","modified_gmt":"2022-09-27T16:13:01","slug":"faro-announces-new-4d-construction-progress-management-solution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/digital-construction-news\/bim-news\/faro-announces-new-4d-construction-progress-management-solution\/116073\/","title":{"rendered":"FARO announces new 4D Construction Progress Management Solution"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/stakeholders\/faro-3d-measurement-technology\/36037\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FARO Technologies<\/a> has announced a new 4D Construction Progress Management Solution uniting point cloud data and 360\u00b0 reality capture, available on FARO\u2019s Sphere SaaS platform<\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wr1-JGJ6aQ8\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>FARO&#8217;s new 4D Construction Progress Management Solution\u00a0is being presented at Autodesk University, a major industry conference, on 27 September and is expected to be released later this year.<\/p>\n<p>The central component of the 4D Construction Progress Management Solution is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faro.com\/en\/Products\/FARO-Sphere\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FARO&#8217;s Sphere Viewer<\/a>, which leverages a combination of computer vision, photogrammetry and artificial intelligence to create a comprehensive virtual jobsite.<\/p>\n<p>Developed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/featured\/using-3d-laser-scanners-360-photo-capture-job-sites\/109007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FARO\u2019s 360\u00b0 reality capture and point cloud technology<\/a> experts, the new viewer analyzes point clouds and 360\u00b0 photos in a unified environment, removing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/featured\/reality-capture-technology-as-part-of-the-urban-new-normal\/113544\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reality capture<\/a> data silos and enabling faster analysis.<\/p>\n<h3>4D Construction Progress Management Solution includes:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>VideoMode, which uses 360\u00b0 videos to enable faster and easier site documentation,<\/li>\n<li>ProgressAI, which uses artificial intelligence to detect and report site progress,<\/li>\n<li>A brand-new Robotics API, which allows robotic manufacturers to integrate and directly import reality captured data from robots straight into the virtual jobsite.
