{"id":117485,"date":"2022-10-25T10:35:40","date_gmt":"2022-10-25T09:35:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=117485"},"modified":"2022-10-25T10:35:40","modified_gmt":"2022-10-25T09:35:40","slug":"new-27-5m-newport-health-and-wellbeing-centre-to-be-delivered-by-kier","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/new-27-5m-newport-health-and-wellbeing-centre-to-be-delivered-by-kier\/117485\/","title":{"rendered":"New \u00a327.5m Newport health and wellbeing centre to be delivered by Kier"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>A new health and wellbeing centre in Newport worth \u00a327.5m will be delivered by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kier.co.uk\/approach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kier<\/a> for the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board<\/h2>\n<p>Kier has been appointed to deliver a new \u00a327.5m Health and Wellbeing Centre in Ringland, Newport for the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.<\/p>\n<p>The project was procured through the Building for Wales Framework.<\/p>\n<h3>The new facilities will aim to reduce loneliness and support wellbeing<\/h3>\n<p>Services at the existing community hub will be connected to the new building to strengthen the services provided to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/featured\/occupant-wellbeing\/106203\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">support wellbeing<\/a>, reduce loneliness and promote independent living.<\/p>\n<p>The new building will house two existing GP practices and bring together a range of community services such as general medical services, community dentistry, community services, social care and third-sector partners.<\/p>\n<p>Other works at the Newport health and wellbeing centre development include a mobile health centre to be used during the construction of the main building, a new car park and installing a new tarmac pitch.<\/p>\n<h3>The Newport health and wellbeing centre will improve healthcare delivery across the third largest city in Wales<\/h3>\n<p>Jason Taylor, regional director at Kier Construction Western &amp;
