{"id":118749,"date":"2022-11-23T14:44:08","date_gmt":"2022-11-23T14:44:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=118749"},"modified":"2022-11-24T14:35:34","modified_gmt":"2022-11-24T14:35:34","slug":"hark-appointed-to-smarter-buildings-program-by-nhs-property-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/hark-appointed-to-smarter-buildings-program-by-nhs-property-services\/118749\/","title":{"rendered":"Hark appointed to Smarter Buildings Program by NHS Property Services"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/harksys.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hark<\/a> has secured a three-year contract to the Smarter Buildings Program, where it will enable the connectivity of buildings and assets across 3,600 NHS facilities<\/h2>\n<p>Hark Systems Ltd will provide expertise and consultancy to design the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.property.nhs.uk\/solutions\/transforming-the-nhs-estate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NHS Property Services<\/a> Smarter Buildings Program across a \u00a33bn estate.<\/p>\n<p>The contract, confirmed for an initial three months, will be focused on designing the Eco-System of technology to enable the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/featured\/transforming-construction-through-wireless-connectivity\/118596\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">connectivity of buildings and assets<\/a> across over 3,600 National Health Service Facilities.<\/p>\n<h3>NHS PS helps to keep buildings clean, safe, warm and compliant<\/h3>\n<p>Since its establishment in 2013, NHS Property Services (NHS PS) now owns over 3600 National Health Service facilities, one of the largest property portfolios in the UK, with a total value of over \u00a33bn.<\/p>\n<p>NHS PS is in the initial stages of its Smarter Buildings program and requires assistance to write the architectural design that will be used to build the Smarter Building platform, the central intelligence hub of the project. Hark are helping NHS PS by offering the provision of technology consultancy services to aid them in the discovery phase of this project.<\/p>\n<h3>The Smarter Buildings Program will lead to improved efficiency of systems and industrial assets<\/h3>\n<p>The \u201cSmarter Buildings Program\u201d aims to implement an \u2018Eco-System\u2019, designed by Hark, which will be a central technological enabler, allowing NHS PS to collect, input, archive, analyse and report on their estate information in a consistent and efficient way.<\/p>\n<p>This Eco-System will allow NHS PS to react to facility and management information in real time and control buildings remotely through a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/featured\/nemetschek-digital-twin-for-large-construction-projects\/118422\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">digital twin environment<\/a> by integrating software into their Building Management Systems.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/featured\/preventing-legionella-with-iot-automation-and-digital-processes\/112485\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Internet of Things (IoT) sensors<\/a>, building management systems, artificial intelligence (AI), and augmented reality are some of the technology that will include NHS PS to control and optimise estate performance in the future.<\/p>\n<h3>Utilising data to deliver sustainable healthcare<\/h3>\n<p>Jordan Appleson, chief executive officer, Hark, commented:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe NHS is a dream client for many across our team.
