Morgan Sindall Construction has delivered a \u00a34m outpatients unit at St Richard’s Hospital, using a modular building to create additional accommodation on site<\/h2>\n

Morgan Sindall Construction has delivered a \u00a34m outpatients unit at St Richard\u2019s Hospital in Chichester for the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (UHSussex).<\/p>\n

Morgan Sindall Construction\u2019s Southern Home Counties business has handed over the two-storey, 400 sq m, centrally located modular building to create additional accommodation on site.<\/p>\n

Modern methods of construction<\/a> (MMC) have been used to minimise the environmental impact, as well as bring the delivery date forward.<\/p>\n

The community was consulted to ensure the project delivered social value<\/h3>\n

To maximise the project\u2019s social value, the Southern Home Counties business communicated with local stakeholders to identify what initiatives could be completed for the benefit of the hospital and surrounding local community. This follows the missive of the Pagabo national Medium Works framework, through which the project was procured.<\/p>\n

The outpatient\u2019s unit will provide an additional eight consulting rooms to alleviate the impact of COVID-19 on the hospital\u2019s patient waiting lists.<\/p>\n

MMC was used to tailor the project to the Trust’s needs and means<\/h3>\n

By employing its Intelligent Solutions approach, Morgan Sindall Construction worked closely with the hospital throughout the project and recommended a modular unit to align with the Trust\u2019s financial, environmental and timescale goals.<\/p>\n

The 400 sq m modular building has been delivered using off-site modern methods of construction<\/a> to improve the project\u2019s delivery programme.<\/p>\n

The outpatients unit will reduce pressures at St Richard\u2019s Hospital<\/h3>\n
