Global construction software provider Payapps has launched an innovative new initiative, \u2018Surviving to Thriving\u2019, to look at how companies can thrive in a post-pandemic world<\/h2>\n

Entitled From Surviving to Thriving<\/a>, the initiative provides a vital platform to support \u2018open knowledge sharing\u2019 to help the sector switch from survival gear into thrive mode and lays solid foundations for the sector\u2019s continued success and evolution.<\/p>\n

In recent years, the global economy has seen some of the most disruptive times in history, with the construction sector as susceptible to these challenges as other industries. Through a series of video interviews with contractors, consultants and trade organisations, along with written Q&As, the Payapps From Surviving to Thriving initiative will explore how the sector has managed through challenging times, what lessons have been learned and what the strategy could be for future success<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The pandemic gave businesses the opportunity to look outside of the box<\/h3>\n

Commenting on the initiative Neal Hooks, head of Payapps UK&I, said: \u201cFrom lockdowns and travel restrictions to supply chain issues, skills shortages and project suspensions, many contractors across the construction sector have had to adapt and change the way they work and do business.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, through these challenges companies are actually finding the break from the norm is presenting opportunities to look outside of the box and assess their current way of working.\u201d<\/p>\n

As part of its initiative, Payapps has produced an e-guide called Thriving in the Construction Industry Post-Pandemic <\/a>that looks at strategic areas businesses can focus on to help facilitate thriving in a post-pandemic environment.<\/p>\n

Surviving to Thriving offers advice to companies to help and drive efficiencies<\/h3>\n

The guide advises companies to drive efficiencies by accelerating digital adoption; create operating models around people\u2019s needs; incorporate operating resilience into new operating models; be more agile and adaptable; prioritise and act on mental health; and identify new business opportunities to ensure they position themselves for the long term.<\/p>\n

The Surviving to Thriving initiative starts with six interviews from thought leaders in the construction industry where they shared how they approached the pandemic and discussed their tips and tricks for thriving during challenging times.<\/p>\n

FIS – Digital and the construction industry<\/h3>\n

Many industries have undergone substantial change and the construction industry is no exception. The pandemic has highlighted structural problems throughout the supply chain, this has caused many within the trade, including\u00a0FIS<\/a>, to question industry norms and reconsider where and how firms could manage projects more effectively.<\/p>\n

Iain McIlwee, CEO of FIS, talks about the issues faced by the sector and how risk management and digital adoption can improve efficiencies.<\/p>\n

Zero Construct – Technology and net zero targets in construction<\/h3>\n
