Former energy, environment and sports minister Lord Colin Moynihan has been appointed as the new chairman of Amey<\/a>, starting immediately<\/h2>\n

Infrastructure services and engineering company Amey UK Limited is has announced\u00a0 that Lord Colin Moynihan has been appointed chairman, taking on the role immediately.<\/p>\n

Colin will take on the role effective immediately. He brings with him a wealth of experience in Government and in the energy sector.<\/p>\n

The new Amey chairman has served in office and in the Olympics<\/h3>\n

In addition to his former roles as Energy Minister and Environment Minister, Colin has also acted as Chairman of the UK Renewable Energy Advisory Group and was the first President of the British Wind Energy Association.<\/p>\n

Colin Moynihan won a silver medal as cox for the Great Britain men’s rowing team at the 1980 Summer Moscow Olympics and later served two terms as chairman of the\u00a0British Olympic Association.<\/p>\n

Colin will support the board in their focus on Amey supporting the UK\u2019s energy transition efforts as well as the company\u2019s continued development of its ESG programme in support of social value<\/a>. He replaces Ian Tyler who has served as Chairman since 2018.<\/p>\n

The announcement follows the recent acquisition of Amey by One Equity Partners and Buckthorn Partners.<\/p>\n

Realising Amey’s potential through Moynihan’s government and energy sector experience<\/h3>\n

Ante Kusurin, principal at OEP, said: \u201cWe\u2019re excited to see Colin join the board at Amey and support the management team. We\u2019re confident that his experience will be valuable as the company looks to seize the market opportunity in the UK and grow the business.\u201d<\/p>\n

Andy Milner, Amey CEO, said: \u201cWe are at an important turning point for the business, and Colin\u2019s wealth of experience in both Government and business across numerous sectors will help us realise Amey\u2019s potential. I would also like to thank Ian for his contribution as Chairman since 2018, particularly through the sale and transition.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking of his appointment, Colin Moynihan, said: \u201cIt is a crucial time to be joining Amey as the company looks to bring its expertise in transport and buildings infrastructure<\/a> to bear on the UK\u2019s net zero ambitions<\/a>. I am looking forward to working with the leadership team and offering my support as they realise the future vision for the business.\u201d<\/p>\n
