{"id":120589,"date":"2023-01-30T16:44:44","date_gmt":"2023-01-30T16:44:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=120589"},"modified":"2023-05-10T09:39:50","modified_gmt":"2023-05-10T08:39:50","slug":"donaldson-timber-systems-to-provide-offsite-timber-frame-manufacture-via-osha-framework","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/mmc-news\/donaldson-timber-systems-to-provide-offsite-timber-frame-manufacture-via-osha-framework\/120589\/","title":{"rendered":"Donaldson Timber Systems secures offsite timber frame supply role on OSHA framework"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Donaldson Timber Systems has secured a place on the Off-Site Homes Alliance (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.offsiteha.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">OSHA<\/a>) national construction framework where they will provide offsite timber frame manufacture for Category 2 housing<\/h2>\n<p>Donaldson Timber Systems (DTS) has secured a position on the Off-Site Homes Alliance (OSHA) national construction \u00a32bn framework for volumetric (CAT 1) and panelised (CAT 2) Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), where it will deliver offsite timber frame panelised system build for Category 2 housing over four years.<\/p>\n<p>DTS will work with 23 housing associations and local authorities across the country, designing, manufacturing offsite and installing timber frame wall panel building systems.<\/p>\n<p>Priorities in this service delivery will include build speed, fabric performance, building design and meeting cost requirements.<\/p>\n<h3>Using offsite timber frame manufacturing to achieve net zero and swift project delivery<\/h3>\n<p>DTS&#8217; fabric-first approach allows housing providers to create sustainable, resilient, and affordable homes that meet the Future Homes Standard and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/mmc-news\/can-timber-construction-help-the-industry-achieve-net-zero\/120370\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">net zero operational carbon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2022, DTS became one of the first manufacturers to achieve <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/mmc-news\/donaldson-timber-systems-dts-buildoffsite-property-assurance-scheme-plus-bopas-plus\/111874\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Buildoffsite Property Assurance Scheme Plus (BOPAS Plus)<\/a> in recognition of the quality and durability of its offsite timber frame build systems.<\/p>\n<p>Mike Perry, business development director, Donaldson Timber Systems, said: \u201cBy securing a position on the OSHA MMC Cat 1 and Cat 2 Framework, we can build upon our strong relationship with affordable housing providers nationally and bring them along on DTS\u2019 timber frame, fabric-first journey.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to facilitating greater efficiency and value for clients who procure via this framework, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/mmc-news\/adoption-of-mmc-at-scale-housing-sector-failed\/118460\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">supporting OSHA\u2019s mission to deliver 20,000 homes with MMC technology<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Delivering affordable homes and social value<\/h3>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Matthew Harrison, chief executive of OSHA member Great Places Housing Group, said: \u201cWe\u2019re delighted to be working with Donaldson Timber Systems on the new OSHA framework.
