He was recognised for continuing work on an affordable housing development in Mostyn on the North Wales coast.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.labc.co.uk\/awards\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The LABC Excellence Awards<\/a> celebrate\u00a0the skill and commitment it takes to deliver quality in construction, and every year site managers across the country are recognised for their exceptional contribution to home building with regional and national Site Manager Awards from LABC Warranty.<\/p>\n<p>Glyn, who lives near Conwy in North Wales, said: \u201cI\u2019m very proud, and it means a lot, as I\u2019ve never been nominated or won awards before.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve spent most of my career in the commercial side, so it\u2019s fantastic to be involved in building new homes for people who really need them. It keeps me proud of everything we do in the construction industry!\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Structural warranties and building control for new-builds across England and Wales<\/h3>\n<p>LABC Warranty works in partnership with Local Authority Building Control (LABC), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/stakeholders\/labc-providing-expert-independent-public-service-building-control-through-local-authorities\/91690\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">providing structural warranties and building control<\/a> for new-build and newly-converted buildings across England and Wales through a combined network of more than 3,500 surveyors.<\/p>\n<p>Site managers are nominated for the Site Manager Awards by LABC Warranty\u2019s local risk surveyors, in Glyn\u2019s case, by LABC Warranty\u2019s North Wales surveyor Gwion Jones. Covering as many as 3,000 sites a year, surveyors only nominate a small number of site managers from regions across England and Wales, making the award a rare achievement.<\/p>\n<p>Gwion said: \u201cGlyn and his team, sub-contractors and support teams are so committed to this project and it really shows. The structure they have in place on site is excellent and the sense of pride in the quality they are delivering is outstanding, and deserving of an LABC Warranty Site Manager of the Year award.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wates Project Director Dan Poole commented: \u201cThis is wonderful achievement and I am absolutely delighted for Glyn and his team at Mostyn.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHere at Wates we take great pride in the quality of our work, something that is only achievable thanks to our values and the commitment, passion and professionalism of our construction teams.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Site managers are essential to the construction industry<\/h3>\n<p>Sarah Sheppard, LABC Warranty Technical Director added: \u201cI am delighted for Glyn and his site team, he is a worthy winner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSite managers make an essential contribution to the construction sector despite the challenges posed by labour and materials shortages.
