{"id":12312,"date":"2014-12-01T14:46:38","date_gmt":"2014-12-01T14:46:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.adjacentgovernment.co.uk\/?p=12312"},"modified":"2018-09-04T09:14:50","modified_gmt":"2018-09-04T08:14:50","slug":"kier-takeover-talks-mouchel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/kier-takeover-talks-mouchel\/12312\/","title":{"rendered":"Kier in takeover talks with Mouchel"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Kier has confirmed it has held preliminary talks with consultant Mouchel regarding a possible takeover.<\/h2>\n<p>Construction company <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kier.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kier<\/a> has revealed it is discussing the possibility of taking over consultant firm <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mouchel.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mouchel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The deal, if it goes ahead, could boost <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/kier-reveals-success-of-training-and-career-initiative\/45759\/\">Kier&#8217;s<\/a> presence in the civil engineering sector.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement to the Stock Exchange this morning [1 December], the company said: \u201cKier Group plc confirms that it has held preliminary discussions regarding a potential acquisition of Mouchel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere can be no certainty that an acquisition of the firm will be completed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA further announcement will be made if and when appropriate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A new takeover would build upon Kier&#8217;s \u00a3221m acquisition of May Gurney in July 2013. Kier turned over \u00a33bn last year.<\/p>\n<p>Mouchel was bailed out by banks and a new management team in 2012.
