{"id":123557,"date":"2023-03-27T14:13:58","date_gmt":"2023-03-27T13:13:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=123557"},"modified":"2023-03-27T14:13:58","modified_gmt":"2023-03-27T13:13:58","slug":"scape-launches-enhanced-bim-offering-across-its-national-construction-frameworks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/digital-construction\/bim-news\/scape-launches-enhanced-bim-offering-across-its-national-construction-frameworks\/123557\/","title":{"rendered":"SCAPE launches enhanced BIM offering across its national construction frameworks"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>SCAPE has launched a new enhanced BIM offering across its national construction frameworks to help public sector organisations benefit from a simplified and consistent approach to BIM<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scape.co.uk\/services\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SCAPE&#8217;s<\/a> new enhanced BIM offering will also help organisations to embed the latest digital standards in construction during and after the delivery of their projects.<\/p>\n<p>SCAPE\u2019s new approach to BIM has been the result of a 12-month collaboration between its in-house digital specialists and sector leaders across its construction partners, including Morgan Sindall Construction, Willmott Dixon, Kier, Mace, Sisk, McLaughlin and Harvey and Graham.<\/p>\n<h3>Supporting compliance with the Building Safety Act<\/h3>\n<p>Alongside reducing project risks and improving programme and cost predictability, the enhanced BIM offering will help to unlock unrealised benefits for clients and support compliance with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/building-control-news\/premier-guarantee-insite-building-safety-act-conference-questions\/123092\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Building Safety Act.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The BIM offering will also provide the regulatory data required for planning the safe use of a building over its lifetime whilst enabling effective early contractor involvement, supporting lifecycle carbon reduction and delivering future operational efficiencies.<\/p>\n<h3>SCAPE\u2019s new BIM offering is the latest initiative to increase the quality and value provided across its suite of direct-award frameworks<\/h3>\n<p>The new BIM approach makes it straightforward for clients to comply with the ISO 19650 BIM standard. SCAPE has created a \u2018Method of Specifying\u2019 document, which will guide clients and project delivery teams through accessing BIM.<\/p>\n<p>The SCAPE frameworks support several project delivery strategies, including both contractor and consultant-led design and the Method of Specifying document allows for different BIM pathways, whether it be architecture-led or construction, to be accessed via the SCAPE framework.<\/p>\n<h3>&#8216;Ensuring a more effective use of public funds and an enhanced legacy&#8217;<\/h3>\n<p>Chris Clarke, director of performance and improvement at SCAPE, commented: \u201cDigitisation and the adoption of BIM is already creating efficiencies through information-sharing and offering the ability to systematically work through common problems at the design and construction stages of projects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis offer aims to make it easier for clients to realise the benefits of BIM during and after their projects are completed on site; through improved building safety, carbon reduction during and after project delivery and improved whole life cost effectiveness of buildings.
